“Wonderful Hotel, Friendly Staff!”
My son goes to Hobart College and my husband and I were up visiting him for Parent's
Weekend. We stayed at the Hotel Clarence, which was about 15 minutes from the
campus. This is a new hotel with a European feel.
The rooms are tastefully decorated and have wonderful bedding and walk-in showers.
The only thing I felt the bathroom needed was a few more hooks to hang those
wonderful bath sheets and a place to hang a washcloth in the shower. However
neither of those things made our stay any less pleasant. We had drinks in the
bar, which was comfortable and cozy.
We had dinner in hotel’s restaurant, Divine. The food was excellent and very
reasonably priced. If you
are looking for a light breakfast this is perfect way to start your day.
Hotel Clarence is a great new addition to downtown Seneca Falls.
“Ultra Euro Chic!”
Stayed here only one night while visiting the Finger Lakes but it was beyond
wonderful. Recently renovated and opened in July ‘09, this hotel will remind
you of a modern boutique hotel in Berlin or New York City.
Loads of original character fortified by a simple but stunning renovation—pristine
white tile baths, chandeliers, elegant drapery panels flanking tall windows,
flat screen TVs with satellite service, free Wi-Fi and full service. The bed
was the ultimate in comfort. And the adjoining restaurant's name, Divine, says
it all. Wonderfully prepared food in ample but not overwhelming servings with
local wines and a full service bar.
We got an exceptional room rate on the Internet - wished we had just used this
for base for our entire trip. It's 20-30 minutes away from Sheldrake Point Vineyards
on Lake Cayuga.
It is quiet, hip (in the best sense of the word), had all needed amenities, beautifully
decorated and cheaper than many motel franchises.
